LD-slag
LD-slag is the second largest product after BF-slag. The volume is about 160.000 Mt./year at Oxelösund. The product name is LD-Stone.
LD-slag comes from slag-formers such as burned lime/ dolomite and from oxidising of silica, iron and others when refining the iron into steel in the LD-Furnace.

Use of LD-stone:
LD-Stone is used as a slag-former in the Blast-Furnace. It’s also used as rawmaterials in mineral-wool plants and for manufacturing of cement.
LD-slag may not be used for road building because of it’s physical and chemical instability.
